ABSTRACT
Primary sarcomas of the thumb metacarpal are rare malignant lesions. Surgical treatment involves amputation versus tumor resection with reconstruction. If complete is possible, preservation may be considered, as vital to hand function. Following resection, previous reports have described graft reconstruction fusion trapezium or scaphoid. We present two cases sarcoma necessitating that were reconstructed an arthrodesis proximal phalanx second shaft. Arthrodesis allows robust bony contact for well improved resting position thumb. At 2- and 4-year follow-up, both patients a stable, pain-free without evidence local recurrence.
