ABSTRACT
Laser‐Doppler velocimetry (LDV) measurements are presented of relative mean velocity and turbulence intensity components inside the impeller passage a centrifugal fan with twelve backward curved blades at design, under‐design, over‐design flow rates. Additional LDV were also performed volute outlet to examine uniformity for three selected Complementary visualization results in tongue region further presented. It is found that number characteristic regions average level increase decreasing air rate. For case under‐design rate, there through‐flow on suction side, reverse pressure shear layer between. The corresponding as high 9.1% blade tip velocity.
