ABSTRACT

Abstract
Tenascin-C is an extracellular matrix molecule that drives progression of many types human cancer, but the basis for its actions remains obscure. In this study, we describe a cell-autonomous signaling mechanism explaining how tenascin-C promotes cancer cell migration in tumor microenvironment. murine xenograft model advanced osteosarcoma, and receptor integrin α9β1 were determined to be essential lung metastasis cells. We activation pathway also reduced cell–autonomous expression target genes transcription factor YAP. clinical specimens, genetic signature comprising four YAP represents prognostic impact. Taken together, our results illuminate deposition microenvironment invasive metastatic progression.

Significance: These glycoprotein by employing α9β1, abolishing actin stress fiber formation, inhibiting gene expression, with potential implications prognosis therapy. Cancer Res; 78(4); 950–61. ©2017 AACR.
