Selected Cytokine Profiles during Remission in Bipolar Patients

The aim of the study was to examine cytokine status in bipolar patients during immediate remission after acute episodes mania or depression and with sustained (≥6 months) remission, compared healthy controls.The performed on 121 patients, whom 35 were mania, 41 depression, 45 >6-month lithium monotherapy combined other drugs. control group consisted 78 individuals without any history psychiatric immunological illnesses. Serum concentrations IL-1β, IL-2, IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α IFN-γ determined using Human Th1/Th2 Cytometric Bead Array method.The concentration IL-10 higher those than controls. On hand, not different from subjects.The results obtained this show that achieved mostly by maintenance brings a level similar subjects.
