Industry 4.0 competencies among lecturers of higher learning institution in Malaysia

ABSTRACT
Industry 4.0 is a new breed from the past industry revolution. The revolution implies an inevitable impact on professional sectors, including education field. Higher Learning Institution (HLI) viewed as platform for development of competencies. However, research related to competencies among educators or academicians scarce. Hence, this study aims assess level lecturers in one higher learning institution Malaysia, well identify that required further enhancement. Five identified literature review, which are Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Organizational Learning, Innovative Management, Environment Continuous Improvement importance implementation perceived by across five assessed via questionnaire responded 132 Malaysia. Data collected analyzed descriptive analysis levels respondent. In addition, improvement opportunity index, namely Focus Index calculated each competency. Finding reveals all four respondents important, however implemented at moderate level. Analysis result also suggests term ICT “over focus”, while competency “under focus”
