ABSTRACT
This paper studies the performance of different network devices in an Ethernet based environment. That is Hub, Switch and Bridge local area networks (LANs) order to know which among these three mentioned above performs best terms packet transfer, collision count delay. The simulation was carried out using OPNET IT Guru Academic Edition 9.1. To observe devices, scenarios were presented. In first scenario, connected with one hub 16 nodes; second scenario two hubs a switch while third bridge. These entire observed under Packet sizes 1500 bytes, 1024 bytes 512 bytes. But it that higher size value some metrics such as traffic received delay on other hand improving reduces from e.t.c. but situation has no significant impact metric sent. results displayed level data
