ABSTRACT
Introduction: rabies is a viral zoonotic disease caused by lyssavirus of the family Rhabdoviridea, characterized acute encephalitis. Worldwide, 55,000 deaths occur annually with 56% occurring in Africa and 44% Asia. Humans get infected through contact saliva an animal (bite, scratches, licks on broken skin mucous membranes). We investigated suspected outbreak Nyive Community Ho Municipality Volta Region, Ghana, to confirm exposure, perform descriptive epidemiology, contain help implement control preventive measures, where possible using one-health approach.
