ABSTRACT
Part 1 of this series introduced the partial extraction therapies as a group techniques for ridge preservation at immediate implant placement and beneath pontic sites. The concept proposes paradigm shift away from extract augment toward partly retaining tooth root to preserve prevent buccopalatal collapse. revolutionary socket-shield technique was in 2010; however, there has been no follow-up literature guide clinician terms procedural steps. While submergence is well established, shield are still their clinical infancy require long-term data before they can be proposed routine everyday dentistry. Yet without sound knowledge on how carry out therapies, global dental community cannot participate application or contribute growing base. In this, second part series, procedures submergence, socket-shield, addressed, step by step, supplemented with applicable guidelines first such publication guiding apply these root- ridge-preservation techniques.
