ABSTRACT
Although it has been suggested that humoral immunity plays a role in the pathogenesis of cerebral vasospasm after subarachnoid hemorrhage, there no quantitative assay for cellular immunity. We studied kinetics immune cells space hemorrhage rat. One hundred fourteen Sprague-Dawley rats were used this study. The animals divided into two groups and injected with either autologous blood (0.3 mL) or saline major cistern. They killed at specified time: 10 minutes 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 days hemorrhage. For immunohistochemical analysis, rats' whole brains frozen, cryostat sections prepared. flow cytometric analysis cell presence, their underwent enzymatic digestion. Histopathologic study revealed pathological change arterial wall, existence macrophages T survival time 2 to 5 A peak appearance helper-suppressor ratio also reached serial response immunoreactive cells, which resembles chronic allergic reaction observed autoimmune diseases delayed-type hypersensitivity, exists present results suggest initial immunity, is followed by eicosanoid reactions, eliciting development vasospasm.
