ABSTRACT
Hypertensive diseases are associated with adverse experiences in childhood as well depression. In order to determine if these associations were present women preeclampsia (PreE), a particularly devastating hypertensive disease pregnancy, the scores from three questionnaires: Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE), Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), and Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) compared between PreE (n=32) without (n=46) 9 48 months postpartum (IRB# 201808705). ACE calculated by summing an individual’s affirmative responses specific during childhood. our study, average score of individuals was higher than that (1.69 vs. 1.02, P=.04). We also divided into groups based on whether their ≤3 or ≥4 due evidence who have experienced ACEs at greatest risk for physical mental health conditions. Among participants, 80% (n=10) had while only 35.3% (n=68) developed condition (P=0.01). As well, odds having those ≥4, (OR= 7.34; 95% CI = 1.44, 37.33). subset available EPDS, survey identifies depression 6 weeks after birth, PHQ-9, another assessment EPDS (6.38, n=21 3.71, n=42 P=0.01), indicating more severe symptoms PreE. addition, PHQ-9 among (3.71, n=15 vs 1.86, n=37 P=.02) The (4.00, n=4 2.27, n=48 P=.01) events likely experience Together, findings indicate may be late pregnancy and/or postpartum.
