ABSTRACT
Purpose: Based on the results of SAMMPRIS trial, modifications in patient selection and procedural aspects for intracranial stent placement have been recommended. We performed a multicenter prospective single arm trial to determine if such will result lower rates peri-procedural stroke and/or death. Materials Methods: The study enrolled patients with recent transient ischemic attack or (excluding lacunar events) related high-grade (70-99% severity) stenosis major artery. Patients were treated using angioplasty self-expanding after 3 weeks index event at one 10 high volume centers China. An independent neurologist ascertained occurrence any death within month procedure. Results: A total 100 consecutive recruited. target lesions located middle cerebral artery [M1] (n=38, 38%), internal carotid (n=17, 17%), intradural vertebral (n=18, 18%), basilar (n=27, 27%). technical success rate deployment residual <50% was 100%. overall one-month 2% (95% confidence interval 0.7% - 4.7%). Two strokes occurred pontine region (perforator distribution) following stenosis. Conclusion: this multi-center demonstrated that can substantially reduce placement.
