A nationwide, resident-led teaching programme for medical students in Singapore: SingHealth Student Internship Programme Bootcamp

ABSTRACT
This study aimed to describe the planning, development and evaluation of success first nationwide, resident-led, large-group teaching programme for medical students - Singapore Health Services Student Internship Programme (SIP) Bootcamp.This was an initial feasibility evaluating a half-day boot camp initiated, developed conducted by resident educators. A three-month preparation period required set up education subcommittee, liaise with student leaders, recruit educators, meet all stakeholders conduct camp. During SIP Bootcamp, educators clinical case presentations using question-and-answer format. Audience participation strongly encouraged. 15-item questionnaire distributed assess participants' learning experience educators' performance five-point Likert scale.Overall, 94.8% (n = 110) 116 respondents agreed that sessions were high quality content relevant their training. The appeared well-informed (96.6%, n 112) enthusiastic about respective topics (98.3%, 114). However, few (9.5%, 11) felt audio-visual aids handouts could be improved better aid process.This its kind in feedback from showed it well-received. Further research different methods, including small-group discussions surgical practical specialties, would great value students.
