ABSTRACT
Based on molecular studies, the small Chinese genus Petrocodon (two species and one variety) has been recently enlarged to include monotypic genera Calcareoboea, Paralagarosolen Tengia. It is shown here that (6-7) of Lagarosolen, Dolicholoma, a few Didymocarpus, number new have published (but not formally described) under Lagarosolen should be included in this genus. This raises size from five around 20 species. With respect floral diversity (corolla form, size, coloration; with exception Tengia, androecium always diandrous) inferred pollination syndromes (different forms melittophily, ornithophily, psycho- and/or sphingophily), represents most varied Old World Gesneriaceae, comparable some New genera.
