Taxonomic placement of Millettia occidentalis (Leguminosae, Papilionoideae), a rare liana from the Amazon Basin

A new combination is proposed for Millettia occidentalis, a rare liana endemic to small locality of the Amazon Basin, in Brazil. Morphology and geographic distribution supports its transfer Deguelia specimen at IAN designated as lectotype. Validation needed use impending floristic treatments, well promote conservation field efforts. It occurs “terra firme” forests (non-flooded), on high lands appears be very range-wide, based documented occurrences. Description, illustration, map, some ecological notes preliminary evaluation assessment are provided.
