Three new Hantzschia species (Bacillariophyta) from the Maritime Antarctic Region

ABSTRACT
Following an earlier revision of the genus Hantzschia (Bacillariophyta) in Maritime Antarctic Region, several at present unidentified or poorly known taxa this aerophilic have been investigated using both light and scanning electron microscopy. Based on morphological analysis observations, three new species are currently described: australabundans sp. nov., H. zidarovae nov. zikmundiana The differ from comparable valve outline, structure internal proximal raphe endings striae areolae. Additional observations presented amphioxys its forma muelleri, abundans incognita, based populations South Shetland Islands, Vega Island James Ross Island. Brief notes ecology all reported added.
