ABSTRACT
Cortinarius is one of the most species-rich, conspicuous and widespread genera basidiomycete ectomycorrhizal fungi. While knowledge morphogenetic diversity in central northern Europe rather extensive, less known about genus other regions, such as Iberian Peninsula. The present study assesses taxonomical status an unknown species from Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park (north-eastern Peninsula), using morphological, phylogenetic ecological data. As a result, C. uxorum presented new subg. Telamonia sect. Firmiores. It phenotypically recognized by its medium to large-sized, stout basidiomata with persistent copious whitish silvery-white veil remnants on pileus margin, ring-like stripe upper stipe. restricted distribution this highlights need consider fungi pivotal component biodiversity conservation policies.
