ABSTRACT
Ferula sommieriana, a new species occurring in Lampedusa and Linosa, islands of Pelagie Archipelago the Sicilian Channel, is described illustrated. Previously it was attributed to F. communis, from which differs several features regarding mainly morphology anatomy terminal leaf lobes mericarps, as well shape size reproductive structures. Its ecology, conservation status relationships with other allied Mediterranean sect. are provided, analytical keys belonging aforesaid section.
