ABSTRACT
Stryphnodendron is a Neotropical genus of Fabaceae (Caesalpinioideae, mimosoid clade), comprising 36 taxa occurring from Nicaragua to Southern Brazil, most them found and endemic in being especially frequent savannas (Cerrado) the Amazon Forest. This synopsis presents designation 16 lectotypes, eight new synonyms, combination with nomenclatural status change, species’ reestablishment, two doubtful names three excluded species. We also present nine species, which are described illustrated. All species accompanied by comments on geographical distribution, habitat IUCN Conservation status.
