ABSTRACT
During the preparation of taxonomic review Comolia, some novelties were found. Here we describe Comolia paraensis, a new species endemic to Brazilian state Pará, preliminary categorized as Endangered. This occurs in campinas around Oriximiná and stony Amazonian savannas Monte Alegre Óbidos. paraensis is morphologically similar C. kuhlmannii veronicifolia, two entities that here considered distinct from villosa. illustrated, compared with species, notes on its geographic distribution conservation status are provided. We also discuss succulence found branches population Alegre, something unprecedented within Marcetieae, but commonly reported Pyramieae Sonerileae.
