Revealing the true taxonomic status of Catasetum joaquinianum (Orchidaceae: Catasetinae)

The genus Catasetum stands out by its elevated number of registered natural hybrids. Many them have been described as new species and there is a need revision. Thus, we propose in this study change the taxonomic status joaquinianum: suggest it hybrid, based on comparison holotype protologue with various plants resulting from artificial hybridization C. fimbriatum hookeri. We provide brief description, well data related to analysis original material, geographic distribution phenology order confirm nothospecies. Finally, discuss shared flower visitors hookeri an evidence for possible between these species.
