A new pea crab species of the genus Arcotheres Manning, 1993 (Crustacea: Decapoda: Brachyura: Pinnotheridae) from India

A new species of pinnotherid crab, Arcotheres shahi n. sp., is described on the basis specimens collected during a crustacean survey along coastal areas Pamban fishing harbor in Gulf Mannar, Tamil Nadu state, east coast India. The resembles A. pernicola (Bürger, 1895), winckworthi (Gordon, 1936) and rayi Ahyong Ng, 2007, having dactyli longer fourth pereopod than that fifth pereopod. sp. differs from these three known shape female carapace, frontal region chela, setal pattern pereopods relative length ambulatory pereiopods.
