ABSTRACT
This study has aimed to test different methods of overcoming dormancy, accelerating and standardizing the initial seedling settling determining pre-germination treatment that is more effective for species Dialium guianense (Aubl.) Sandwitch. The seeds were submitted following treatments: Control (T1) – only asepsis was done by immersion in sodium hypochlorite (2 %) 3 minutes; sulfuric acid (98 % p.a.) 5, 10, 15 20 minutes (T2, T3, T4 T5, respectively); mechanical chisel plow (T6) (2%) seed surface abrasion 80 sandpaper seconds, always at edge (to avoid damaging embryo) then immersed water 24 hours. have cutaneous dormancy treatments chemical means concentrated (98%) providing highest values emergence Emergence Speed Index (ESI) seedlings, as well average dry matter allocation shoot primary root.
