ABSTRACT
Purpose: To investigate the relationship between Acanthamoeba genotypes, clinical manifestations, and outcomes in keratitis (AK) patients. Methods: This retrospective study included 159 culture-confirmed AK Patients’ data were collected, including demographics, initial diagnosis, treatments, features. The genotype of was identified through sequencing Diagnostic Fragment 3 (DF3) region small ribosomal subunit RNA genes. phylogenetic tree constructed using ClustalW model maximum likelihood method. Cases with “poor outcome” defined based on specific criteria, corneal perforation, keratoplasty, other eye surgery, duration anti-amoebic therapy ≥8.0 months, final visual acuity ≤20/80. “Better cases remainder. correlation T4 subtypes, phenotypes, prognosis further analyzed. Results: In this study, primarily attributed to T4A genotype, a positive geographical genetic distances. primary associated subtypes deep stromal infiltration. Results also showed significant association (P = 0.021). Further analysis revealed that T4C closely better 0.040) T4D worse 0.013). Conclusions: China, predominantly caused by subtype. Geographical distance positively correlated distance. Clinical varied among different notably T4D. Translational Relevance: demonstrated as well effects prognosis.
