ABSTRACT
Purpose: We tested the hypothesis that clinical statokinetic dissociation (SKD, defined as difference in sensitivity to static and kinetic stimuli) at scotoma border retinal disease is due individual criterion bias SKD can be eliminated by equating psychophysical procedures for testing stimulus detection. Methods: Six subjects with glaucoma six retinitis pigmentosa (RP) were tested. Clinical (standard automated perimetry [SAP] manual [MKP]) used determine region of interest laboratory-based testing. Two-way Method Limits (MoL) was establish isocontrast RP subjects. Constant Stimuli (MoCS) a two-interval forced choice (2IFC) procedure then present or (inward outward) stimuli different eccentricities within region. Results: found subjects, variable magnitude among but significantly exceeding expected typical measurement variability. resultant when using MoCS 2IFC showed equal targets, thus eliminating SKD.
