ABSTRACT
Proline and its synthesis enzyme pyrroline-5-carboxylate reductase 1 (PYCR1) are implicated in epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), yet how proline PYCR1 function allergic asthmatic airway remodeling via EMT has not been addressed. In the present study, increased levels of plasma were observed patients. Similarly, lung tissues higher a murine asthma model induced by house dust mites (HDMs). Pycr1 knockout (KO) decreased tissues, with reduced EMT. Mechanistically, loss restrained HDM-induced modulating mitochondrial fission, metabolic reprogramming, AKT/mTOR1 WNT3a/β–catenin signaling pathways epithelial cells. Therapeutic inhibition wild-type mice disrupted inflammation remodeling. Deprivation exogeneous partially relieved to some extent. Collectively, this study illuminates that involved could be viable targets for treatment.
