ABSTRACT
The authors compared impulsivity, sensation seeking, and anhedonia in a group of schizophrenic patients with without lifetime substance abuse or dependence.Patients (N=100) schizophrenia schizoaffective disorder (per DSM-III-R criteria) were assessed the Composite International Diagnostic Interview's section on psychoactive use disorder, Positive Negative Syndrome Scale, Barratt Impulsivity Zuckerman Seeking Sensation Chapman Physical Anhedonia Scale.The mean scores for impulsivity seeking higher (N=41) than (N=59). No significant difference between groups was found regarding physical anhedonia.As general population, high levels are associated schizophrenia.
