First Adaptation of a Family-Based ACT Model in Mainland China: A Pilot Project

ABSTRACT
Objective: This study reports findings from a preliminary evaluation of the first implementation assertive community treatment (ACT) model in mainland China. Methods: Over six months, pilot compared group patients (N=15) and family caregivers who received ACT services with control (N=16) standard services. Data on hospitalization days, relapse frequency, psychiatric symptoms, social vocational functioning, general mental health status, burden, level support for were examined. Results: had no admissions, two group; they also significantly lower psychopathology higher functioning scores. No significant differences outcome measures found. Conclusions: The found implementing Implementation could contribute to reducing admission improving functioning. Further research ways enhance caregivers’ experience is warranted.
