Is More Feedback Seeking Always Better? Leader-Member Exchange Moderates the Relationship Between Feedback-Seeking Behavior and Performance

ABSTRACT
Feedback is information made available to employees in their work environment, whereas feedback-seeking behaviors (FSBs) help evaluate proactively whether has met performance standards and behavior considered appropriate. Prior studies have provided a perspective on how the contexts affect emergence development of FSBs. In this study, we extend that by investigating when FSBs job so can understand more feedback seeking always better. Adopting relational view leadership, hypothesize FSB-performance relationship should be stronger for with low leader-member exchange (LMX) groups aggregate LMX differentiation. Using multilevel research design sample 379 teachers 25 groups, find support most our hypotheses. We discuss implications study FSB proactive literature suggest avenues future research.
