ABSTRACT
In the forming process of long threads by axial self-infeed rolling process, protrusion generates on top tooth profile, which affects strength and precision formed threads. this article, principle was described, finite element model established to simulate The formation mechanism analyzed through material flow, verified experiments. pre-rolling angle material’s influence size also investigated. results showed that motion rollers squeezed one flank tooth, leading higher face side as compared other side. During height increased first then decreased, reaching maximum value when 73% whole tooth. order reduce height, should be 2°.
