Incorporating active learning in psychiatry education

ABSTRACT
We aim to summarise the active learning literature in higher education and consider its relevance for postgraduate psychiatry trainees, inform development of a new Formal Education Course (FEC): Master Medicine (Psychiatry) at University Sydney.We undertook search on 'active learning', 'flipped classroom', 'problem-based learning' 'psychiatry education'.The effectiveness pedagogy is well supported by evidence; however, there have been few psychiatry-specific studies. A classroom' format was developed (Psychiatry).Postgraduate training an environment; pedagogical approach FECs requires further evaluation.
