ABSTRACT
Traffic loads have an important impact on long-term performance of buried urban pipelines due to generation cyclic stress and fatigue damage. As a key task for pipeline assessment, the investigation traffic-induced pipe load spectrums is always big challenge. Focusing metal under intersection, integrated framework proposed assessment traffic using video monitoring data acquired by widespread surveillance cameras in cities. The computer vision algorithms quarter vehicle model are first employed identify loads. Analytical pipe-soil models then developed calculate establish pipelines, based which Monte-Carlo simulations finally conducted evaluate cumulative damage reliability. A case study DN500 steel intersection demonstrates validates procedure. results can provide basis decision support regarding maintenance replacement pipelines.
