ABSTRACT
The Mental Health Continuum Short Form measures both the private and public aspects of overall positive mental health. This study explored factor structure English (n = 324), Afrikaans 476), Setswana 258) versions scale among culturally diverse South African students. A bifactor exploratory structural equation modeling model displayed superior fit, with but not subscales attaining sufficient reliability. “social integration” contribution” items appeared to provide a better representation health (and psychological well-being for social integration) than intended dimension, mainly represented general in group. These findings suggest need sensitive clarification continuum conceptualization manifestation eudaimonic well-being. exhibited partial scalar invariance across groups.
