ABSTRACT
AbstractA series of Er3+, Sm3+ and Er3+/Sm3+ codoped BaGdF5 nanocrystalline phosphors have been successfully synthesised by hydrothermal synthesis. Uniformly distributed nanocrystals with a spherical morphology particle size 30–40 nm were observed. X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission photoluminescence decay studies employed to characterise the samples. Under 382 radiation excitation, BaGdF5:Er3+ samples exhibit typical green band Er3+ ions. With increasing doped concentration, highly intense orange–red bands ions attributed effective energy transfer from ions, which has justified through luminescence spectra fluorescence dynamics. Keywords: BaGdF5:Er3+/Sm3+Hydrothermal synthesisPhotoluminescenceEnergy AcknowledgementsThis work was supported key project National High Technology Research Development Program China (863 Program) (grant no. 2011AA050526), Natural Science Foundation 51032002) funding Jiangsu Innovation for Graduate Education CXZZ12_0137) as well Fundamental Funds Central Universities.
