ABSTRACT
This paper presents a computational method for the simulation of welding process called friction stir welding. is divided into two main steps. The first one uses an Eulerian description thermomechanical problem; 3D mixed finite element model based on fluid dynamics package used to establish material flow, temperature and pressure fields during process. These results are compared with experimental data. second step more original. A part initial geometry extracted in order evaluate flow local domain around tool. steady state algorithm then calculate residual induced by calculation takes account whole mechanical history because integration along trajectories particles. Finally, stresses welded assembling evaluated. It should be noted that only phase simulated, which leads substantial reduction time.
