ABSTRACT
Trees such as Populus are planted extensively for reforestation and afforestation. However, their successful establishment greatly depends upon ambient environmental conditions relative resistance to abiotic biotic stresses. Polyphenol oxidase (PPO) is a ubiquitous metalloproteinase in plants, which plays crucial roles mediating plant against Although the whole genome sequence of trichocarpa has long been published, little known about PPO genes Populus, especially those related drought stress, mechanical damage, insect feeding. Additionally, there paucity information regarding hormonal responses at level.A genome-wide analysis poplar family was performed present study, 18 PtrPPO were identified. Bioinformatics qRT-PCR then used analyze gene structure, phylogeny, chromosomal localization, replication, cis-elements, expression patterns PtrPPOs. Sequence revealed that two-thirds lacked intronic sequences. Phylogenetic showed all categorized into 11 groups, woody plants harbored many genes. Eighteen disproportionally localized on 19 chromosomes, 3 pairs segmented replication 4 tandem repeat genomes detected poplars. Cis-acting element identified numerous growth developmental elements, secondary metabolism processes, stress-related elements promoters different members. Furthermore, expressed preferentially tissues fruits young plants. In addition, some PtrPPOs could be significantly induced by polyethylene glycol, abscisic acid, methyl jasmonate, thereby revealing potential role regulating stress response. Currently, we upstream TFs using bioinformatics.Comprehensive helpful selecting candidate follow-up studies biological function, progress understanding molecular genetic basis forest trees might lead development resources.
