ABSTRACT
Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most common pathogens that colonizes human skin/mucous membranes, where it causes local infection can progress to invasive infection, resulting in high morbidity and mortality worldwide. This study aimed investigate antibiotic susceptibility molecular characteristics S. children women Southwest China from 2018 2023 provide novel insights helpful preventing treating infections. The demographic clinical patients with were collected analyzed. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) sequence analysis techniques used determine epidemiological isolates, microdilution broth method was for antimicrobial testing. A total 108 29 methicillin-resistant (MRSA) isolates 79 methicillin- susceptible (MSSA) included. had highest rate resistance PEN, at 91.67%, all MRSA being resistant; next ERY CLI, both 65.74%. 32 STs (including 8 STs) detected divided into 10 CCs. Moreover, 45 spa types also detected. main ST22 (17.59%) ST59 (15.74%), CCs CC59 (21.30%) CC22 (19.44%). prevalent t309 t437, 14.81%, SCCmec type could be assigned two categories: IV (62.07%) V (34.48%). Among tested, CC59-IV-t437 (34.48%) CC59-V-t437 (13.79%) lineages, among MSSA CC22-t309 (18.99%), CC1-t189 (10.13%), CC5-t002 (7.60%) lineages. Except SXT, rates greater than those isolates. Most carried virulence genes, which carriage pvl reached 33.33%. provides valuable information, including prevalence, cause infectious diseases China, findings may advance prevention treatment
