ABSTRACT
Abstract Background During arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR), clear surgical field visibility (SFV) is the basis of successful surgery, but choice anesthesia maintenance drugs may have different effects on SFV. In this study, we aimed to compare propofol- and sevoflurane-based general SFV in patients undergoing ARCR. Methods Patients ( n = 130) elective ARCR lateral decubitus position were randomized into either propofol group or sevoflurane (65 per group). The duration surgery increased pressure irrigation (IPI), Boezaart score, rocuronium consumption usage remifentanil recorded. time both spontaneous respiration recovery extubation incidences postoperative nausea vomiting agitation also Results IPI ratio (IPI/S ratio) similar between groups P > 0.05). Rocuronium consumption, number requiring infusion total significantly lower < was longer 0.05), there no differences groups( Conclusions Compared with propofol, provides equally while improving convenience interscalene plexus (ISB) combined anesthesia. Trial registration This single-center, prospective, RCT retrospective registered at Chinese Clinical Registry ChiCTR2300072110 (02/06/2023).
