ABSTRACT
B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) has prognostic significance in heart failure (HF), and reductions BNP may predict clinical improvement. However, there are limited data regarding the value of during short-term follow-up. The aim this study was to evaluate relationship between follow-up mortality after discharge patients with HF. We analyzed 427 hospitalized HF from Wonju Severance Christian Hospital Heart Failure Registry April 2011 December 2013, a planned period through February 2016. Of patients, 240 (mean age, 75 years; 102 males, 42.5%) had measured on admission within (3 months). compared all-cause (median length follow-up, 709.5 days) according median (as baseline value) over discharge. Median at 816.5 pg/ml, 369.7 pg/ml. Multivariate analysis revealed positive association risk death high BNP. High significantly associated greater low (P < 0.001). Initial not mortality. A multivariate model showed that percent change were independently adjustment for covariates. 3 measurement strategies, (IDI 0.072, P .0001 NRI 0.707, .0001) 0.113, 0.782, demonstrated greatest increase discrimination net reclassification Unfortunately, we did find any significant initial Kaplan-Meier survival performed assess stratified by value, higher below (log-rank, p Short-term level factors These values will be clinically useful when evaluating prognosis failure.
