ABSTRACT
Abstract Backgrounds As the prevalence of dementia rises, caregiver burden also increases in South Korea, especially for informal family caregivers. This study aimed to analyze factors affecting by severity based on data patients Seoul. Methods A total 12,292 individuals aged ≥65 years enrolled Seoul Dementia Management Project from 2010 2016 an online database were selected. Caregiver’s was assessed using Korea version Zarit Burden Interview. Multiple regression analyses performed determine associated with primary caregiver’s after stratifying dementia. Results Most showed moderate levels cognitive impairment (49.4%), behavior problems (82.6%), and ADL dependency (73.6%). After dementia, caregivers caring mild symptoms experienced higher if under a lower score IADL. Significant among supporting include caregivers’ residence patients, subjective health status, co-work secondary Lastly, severe limited function, problematic behavior, negative status. Conclusion In terms sample size, this had far more than any other domestic or international study. It meaningful that it analyzed characteristics Korea. Intensive social supports multiple coping strategies focusing different patients’ clinical needs should be planned relieve burden.
