ABSTRACT
Abstract Introduction Antimicrobial stewardship programs are intended to improve patient outcomes, reduce side effects, bacterial resistance, and costs. Thus, it is important assess their impact on an ongoing basis. We aimed the of antimicrobial program in two different hospitals which used approaches. Methodology This a retrospective observational study private [4088 records] Amman- Jordan. Antibiotic susceptibility using antibiogram results, consumption antibiotics Defined Daily Dose, incidence Multi-Drug Resistance were recorded patients’ records during 2018, 2019, 2020. Results outcomes varied between hospitals. Bacterial improved both Moreover, defined daily dose Hospital “A” showed no significant change Fluoroquinolones, Carbapenems, Piperacillin- Tazobactam, Cephalosporins, Colistin, while was observed among Anti-MRSA antibiotics. Finally, Extended Spectrum Beta-lactamase [ESBL] E. coli , ESBL Klebsiella Vancomycin Resistant Enterococci [VRE] have decreased numerically over period, Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus [MRSA] increase second year study. Conclusion The emphasizes positive AMS throughout three years Plus, need enhance through recruiting extra staff applying regulations like implementing educational for hospital staff, designing local guidelines common ID diseases, monitoring program’s would eventually be more efficient, cost-effective, safe.
