ABSTRACT
Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) results from an excess of parathyroid hormone (PTH) produced overactive gland. The study aimed to explore the sonographic features adenomas and assess diagnostic performance ultrasonography (US) Tc-99m MIBI SPECT/CT for preoperative localization adenomas.A total 107 patients were enrolled in this retrospective who had PHPT underwent parathyroidectomy. Of patients, 97 performed US examinations nodules. sensitivity accuracy each modality calculated. In study, residual sign polar vascular identified as characteristic adenomas. These manifestations closely related size abnormal lesions. Among 108 nodules with PHPT, locating significantly higher than those (93.0% vs. 63.0% 88.0% respectively; χ2 = 26.224, 18.227 respectively, P < 0.001). differences between + SPECT/CT-alone statistically significant (χ2 33.410, 21.587 0.001), yet there no or US-alone 0.866, 0.187 0.352 0.665).US shows better SPECT/CT. However, combined is great clinical value PHPT.
