ABSTRACT
The present study aimed at 3D analysis of adhesive remnants and enamel loss following the debonding orthodontic molar tubes clean-up to assess effectiveness safety One-Step Finisher Polisher Adhesive Residue Remover in comparison tungsten carbide bur. Thirty human molars were bonded with chemical-cure (Unite, 3M, USA), stored 24 h 0.9 % saline solution, debonded cleaned using three methods (Three groups ten): bur (Dentaurum, Pforzheim, Germany), one-step finisher polisher (One gloss, Shofu Dental, Kyoto, Japan) Germany). Direct scanning blue-light technology nearest 2 μm was performed before etching after removal. remnant height volume as well depth calculated. An index proposed calculated for every tool; duplicated lost divided by a sum multiplicands. Comparisons parametric ANOVA or nonparametric rank Kruskal-Wallis tests used compare between tools volume, index. No statistically significant differences (p = 0.35) mean 0.24) found (ANOVA test) teeth different tools. Mean 2.159 mm3 bur, 1.366 One Gloss 0.659 - (F 2.816, p 0.0078). A new revealed highly 0.0081), supporting best value worst – evaluated all characterized similar effectiveness. most destructive tool regards least Removal.
