ABSTRACT
Abstract Purpose This study aimed to investigate the relevance of cerebral endothelial cell adhesion molecule (CERCAM) expression head and neck squamous carcinoma (HNSCC) prognosis immune infiltration by macrophage M2 polarization. Methods Timer, UALCAN HPA databases was used analyze differences in mRNA protein levels CERCAM HNSCC. The Timer database also applied correlation between HNSCC infiltration. TCGA-HNSCC clinicopathological features, its diagnostic prognostic value assessed. cBioPortal MethSurv were then genetic variation methylation status CERCAM. In vitro cellular assays performed provide evidence that promotes malignant biological behavior tumors polarization tumors. Finally, underlying pathophysiological mechanisms involvement development predicted using a bioinformatics approach. Results is significantly overexpressed correlates with poor has good performance predicting survival patients. Cox regression analysis indicates are independent risk factors for OS, DSS, PFI. tumor addition, progression through several oncogenic signaling pathways. Conclusion may serve as new biomarker promising therapeutic target
