ABSTRACT
Our objective was to verify the reliability, internal consistency and construct validity of Barthel Index in Brazilian cancer patients palliative care.We included with cancer, both sexes, age greater than or equal 18 years. We used evaluate Index, Karnofsky Performance Scale (KPS), European Organization for Research Treatment Cancer Questionnaire-core 15 (EORTC-QLQ-C15-PAL). The measurement properties evaluated this study were test-retest inter-rater reliability (tested by means correlations other instruments). We 220 a subsample 27 analyses. observed adequate (intraclass correlation coefficient ≥ 0.962) (Cronbach's alpha = 0.942). There between KPS (rho 0.766), functional capacity domain EORTC-QLQ-C15-PAL -0.698).The version presents acceptable consistency, valid measuring independence patients.
