ABSTRACT
Yindan Xinnaotong capsule has been used for treating cardio-cerebrovascular diseases several decades in China. Exercise training can protect against the development of atherosclerosis. The aim present study is to evaluate joint effect YXC and exercise on atherosclerosis rats.A combined method involving low shear stress a high-fat diet was establish model rats. Partial ligation left common carotid artery performed, then rats were divided into 9 treatment groups according 3 × factorial design with two factors three levels each factor, swimming 0, 0.5, 1 h daily administration 1, 2 g/kg p.o. daily. Next interventions executed 8 weeks. After that, blood samples collected determine viscosity, plasma haematocrit (HCT), fibrinogen (FIB), lipid profile (including total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), triglyceride (TG) high-density (HDL-C)), nitric oxide (NO), 6-keto- prostaglandin (PG) F1α, endothelin (ET) thromboxane (TX) B2. arteries harvested examine pathological changes, wall thickness circumference, expression SM22αwas assayed via immune-histochemistry.The early changes observed. effects showed significant examined parameters: (1) decreases viscosity FIB; (2) increases NO 6-keto-PGF1α; (3) ET TXB2; (4) LDL-C TG. combination led synergistic interactive between obvious decreasing thickness. Swimming alone able up-regulate SM22α.In conclusion, this indicates that may prevent through improving circulation, hemorheological parameters, lipids vascular endothelium remodeling be contributed prevention AS by up-regulating SM22α.
