ABSTRACT
Teaching Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) is becoming a priority in the healthcare process. For undergraduates, it has been proved that integrating multiple strategies teaching EBM yields better results than single, short-duration strategy. However, there lack of evidence on applying educational interventions developing countries. In this study, we aim to evaluate effectiveness strategy peer-taught online course improving awareness and skills among medical students two countries, Syria Egypt. We conducted prospective study with pre- post- assessment 84 three universities, using Berlin questionnaire set self-reported questions which studied students' knowledge, attitude competencies. The intervention was consisting six sessions (90 min each) presented over weeks, integrated assignments, group discussions, workshops. mean score post-course tests 3.5 (95% CI: 2.94–4.06) 5.5 4.74–6.26) respectively, increasing by 2 marks 1.112–2.888; p-value <0.001), indicates statistically significant increase knowledge skill, similar previous expert-taught face contact course. Self-reported confidences also increased significantly. our did not have major effect attitudes toward (1.9–10.8%; p-value: 0.12–0.99). courses may be an effective alternative courses, especially short term.
