ABSTRACT
Problem-based learning (PBL), a pedagogical approach, is widely accepted in medical education. Manipulated by many factors, the internal motivation of learner most crucial determinant that affects nature outcome, which influences critical thinking (CT) remained elusive. One hundred two third-year undergraduate students at Peking University were involved this study. A Chinese version Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CTDI-CV) was used to assess CT disposition, and performance scores PBL tutorials compiled. parametric bivariate correlation analysis performed between students' their average scores. The compared strong weak disposition groups using independent t-test. numerical data conducted SPSS 16.0. positive level, with an score 297.72. total had its five dimensions significantly. In majority, Strong-CT obtained higher Weak-CT disposition. these significantly different Late-Half but not Early-Half tutorials. Furthermore, significant improvement observed dispositions. positively correlates performance. Students stronger dispositions perform better process obtain Our work suggested open-mindedness primary factor determines preparation process.
