Effects of BOPPPS combined with TBL in surgical nursing for nursing undergraduates: a mixed-method study

ABSTRACT
Surgical Nursing is a core subject for nursing undergraduates that requires active and effective learning strategies to cultivate students' autonomous competencies critical thinking. The effects of BOPPPS (Bridge-in, Objectives, Pretest, Participatory Learning, Post-test Summary) model combined with team-based (TBL) have rarely been explored in courses.To explore the TBL undergraduates.A mixed research method quasi-experimental study design descriptive qualitative was used. control group included 27 who had finished course using traditional learning. experimental 36 were enrolled receive teaching mode TBL. quantitative data final scores, thinking ability two groups collected compared by t-test. Qualitative results obtained through semi-structured interviews analyzed thematic analysis method.Compared mode, significantly improved examination (p < 0.05). from 14 undergraduate summarized into five themes: (1) stimulating interest; (2) improving ability; (3) sense teamwork; (4) exercising thinking; (5) suggestions improvement.The combination positively impacted students their ability. suggests as an effective, alternative mode.
