Abstract Background Clinical decision-making is considered an essential behaviour in clinical practice. However, no research has been done to examine the associations among midwives’ decision-making, work environment and psychological empowerment. Thus, this study aimed determine influence of on confirm mediating role Method This was designed as a multicentre cross-sectional study, included 602 registered midwives from 25 public hospitals China. A sociodemographic questionnaire, Work Environment Scale, Psychological Empowerment Scale were applied. structural equation model conducted estimate hypothesis explore potential mechanism decision-making. employed maximum likelihood estimation method bootstrapping statistical significance. Results The mean score 143.03 ± 14.22, at intermediate level. data fitted well, results showed that positively affected empowerment, which turn decision-making; empowerment partly mediated relationship between midwives. Conclusions Midwives’ could be promoted directly or indirectly by providing healthy improving It for hospital managers pay attention assessment actively improve it, such establishing supportive, fair just workplace, maintaining effective communication with Furthermore, can also promote enhancing their via job autonomy.
