ABSTRACT
Ethical competency is important to head nurses' transformational leadership, however, few researches have explored their correlation, Additionally, most studies used variable-oriented approach examine ethical competence, without considering it as a multidimensional concept. This study aimed identify the latent profiles of competence and differences in leadership across profiles. Convenience sampling was recruit 329 nurses from four tertiary hospitals Changsha, Hunan province, China. collected data by using social-demographic survey, Competence Questionnaire, Head Nurse's Transformational Leadership Self-rating Scale between July August 2023. Latent profile analysis (LPA) employed competency. One-way ANOVA test Kruskal–Wallis were compare scores The mean 4.045 ± 0.394 4.555 0.419, respectively. identified three those labelled "low competence" (n = 60, 18.2%), "moderate 217, 66.0%) "high 52, 15.8%). average score also statistically different (F 26.446, p 0.000) Our findings underscore importance tailoring interventions address varying among nurses. Enhancing can strengthen ultimately leading improved patient outcomes overall healthcare quality.
